Departing Chubu :(

Photobucket

The day I was hoping never to come, the day to go back to Singapore :( Farewell mountains, farewell delicious food, farewell lush greenery! I have been surviving on 3 hours of sleep a day, climbing and hiking for much of the day, and as a result, I now have tendonitis (inflamed tendons). The excitement and adrenaline kept me going and able to ignore the pain, but while in Nagoya, I was actually half crippled; limping and hobbling to all the places I went to^^ Thus while heading for the airport, I thought I should depart earlier in lieu of the extra time needed to accommodate my slow walking^^

Elevators and escalators at stations are also far and few, so take into account the time you’ll need to navigate to their locations, unless you can manage carrying your luggage up and down stairs comfortably!

Photobucket
One thing to note is that most of the train stations and streets I encountered had these raised bumps, meant to help the visually impaired navigate. Whenever luggages encounter these, they kind of get stuck.

I fell asleep on the 30-minute ride to the airport on the μ-sky tain, but got up just in time. The μ-sky train is an express train to the airport. The outside was decorated with Pokemon^^

Chubu International Airport, also known as Central Japan International Airport, aka Centrair.

Inside the airport; check-in for Singapore Airlines is at Row G.

Before entering baggage check/ immigration gates, there are stores outside selling drugstore items, food, travel accessories and souvenirs. Saw Dolly Wink LE liners!

Photobucket
I got sooo excited after seeing this: Chopper keychains! ♥ They had ones for each of the prefectures surrounding Nagoya: Aichi, Shizuoka, Mie, Gifu.

While going through the baggage check, the officer told me that my ziplock bag for liquids was “too big” and that I had to go out, buy bags within the regulated size. A bit troublesome as I had used the same ziplock when I went to Tokyo, and had no problems at arrival or departure. But thankfully I was at Centrair with ample time to spare, so I went to get the ziplocks (the dimensions should not exceed 22cm x 22cm I was told).

After passing the baggage check and clearing immigration, you’re greeted by this cute dog~

The airport also has a lot of windows, giving it a bright and spacious look.

Photobucket
After going through immigration, the stores mostly sell food and drinks.

Famous biscuits

Photobucket
Even from regions not in Chubu, they even sell Tokyo Banana and Shiroi Koibito~

Photobucket
My flight was actually quite full as there was a group of students from a local high school travelling, but I ended up with a wonderful seat buddy. Say hello to me and my seat-mate, Mr Invisible! ♥

Photobucket
During take-off, I saw this wonderful view of low fluffy clouds above the scattered islands~ ♥

Wonderful meal on the plane~

Delicious appetizers!

Yummy dessert, Hokkaido-produced vanilla ice-cream~
